Lauri Paxton 
Founder/Enrolled Agent

Lauri is a Beaver County native who grew up in Baden and now lives in North Sewickley Township. After spending 26 years working for the Commonwealth of PA, she opened Blue Slate Accounting so that she could do what she loves most – help clients create profits and grow their businesses through her bookkeeping, accounting, and tax expertise. When she’s not working, you can usually find Lauri reading (anything but romance!), cooking or baking something containing chocolate, or going for long motorcycle rides with her partner of 20-plus years, Mark. Running Blue Slate Accounting is definitely Lauri’s dream job, but she also has a dream which involves kicking back on a lounge chair by the ocean with a cool drink in her hand. 

David DeLoia
Director of Business Development

David brings an energetic spark to the Blue Slate office and is usually the first point of contact for our clients. He truly enjoys meeting new people and loves to learn all about what brings people to our office. He knows that every client is different, and he works hard to design the perfect service plan for each one. David also works extra hard during our busy tax season by doing tax intake interviews and tax preparation to ensure that all tax returns are completed and filed on time.  

David’s favorite thing about working at Blue Slate Accounting is being part of a team that truly wants to help every single one of its clients. When not assisting his clients, you can find David hanging out with his dog, playing video games and basketball, or taking people to school at the foosball table. 

Mackenzie Quackenbush
Accountant

Mackenzie is a graduate of Slippery Rock University, where she majored in accounting. She has been an essential part of the Blue Slate Accounting team since 2021, handling both accounting and tax preparation for a variety of clients in multiple industries. Her favorite part of working at Blue Slate Accounting is partnering with her clients to provide them with the most accurate information possible to make their business decisions and power their growth, while helping them to maximize their tax savings. She enjoys getting to know her clients and forming long-term relationships with them.  

In her spare time, Mackenzie can typically be found in the kitchen trying new recipes, or taking care of her many plants and flowers. She is also a talented artist who enjoys drawing and sketching beautiful pictures. 

Kevin You
Accounting Associate

Kevin is a graduate of Slippery Rock University where he majored in finance. Before switching to the accounting field, he worked in the banking industry where he gained valuable skills and analytical abilities that he uses to help provide his clients with the information they need to make critical business decisions. He enjoys the challenging and rewarding nature of working with a wide variety of clients from different industries and the many opportunities he has to learn new accounting and tax skills while working for Blue Slate Accounting.   

When not at work, Kevin enjoys visiting new places with his wife and daughter, and playing video games with friends.  

Jeff Gillespie
Accounting Associate

As a graduate of Penn State University, Jeff joined us in the middle of tax season and quickly became a valuable asset to our team. His favorite part of working at Blue Slate Accounting is working with his restaurant clients to help track their growth and provide reports that help drive their business decisions. He also enjoys the people he gets to work with on a daily basis and the friendly, open office environment. When Jeff isn’t in the office you can usually find him hanging out at his family’s cabin on the lake, or fishing and boating with his dog.
